We are here to serve the 3300+ families in the BG-Barren River Region who are food insecure and/or homeless. The House on the Hill Food Bank and our Housing First programs promote food security, income, sustainable housing and sustainable food sources.
Your gift of $25/month or a one-time $250 annual gift can help feed a family for a year. You can setup your gift monthly or give it all at one time as an annual contribution. Use our "GIVE. Now" button!
You can also mail your support to House on the Hill, Inc. 11430 Woodburn Allen Springs Road, Alvaton, KY 42122.
Can I give more to provide more boxes to a family each month?
We loved to see this happen. Currently, we are able to provide one box of meals each month and one supplemental box of fresh foods during the month. As we build support, partners and volunteers, we'd love to be able to provide as much as possible each month. Keep in mind our goal is to help families provide for themselves. Check out our Food Initiatives.
Does every donation go to provide food boxes?
When you provide a recurring donation of $25/mon or a one time gift of $250 per month, every family who needs a food box, as identified by our Family Resource Youth Service Centers and our organizational partners, receives a food box. With ongoing donations we are able to plan and provide for families who are learning to grow their own food and participate in our food coops. Our goal is to be a Food Bank in the area helping to meet the needs of those who need it most.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
All donations to House on the Hill, Inc. are tax-deductible. We are a registered 501(c)(3) under the Internal Revenue code. You will receive a receipt of your donation and a yearly statement will be available at the end of each calendar year.
Are there other ways to give?
We have ongoing volunteer opportunities through out the year. Our biggest opportunity is at the first and middle of each month as we pack and deliver food boxes. Get involved...Volunteer with Us!
What if a family is larger than four people?
Since our food boxes are based on the Family of Four recipe, our partners are aware it will take more than one box for larger families. They order their number of boxes by dividing the number of people in the family by four and rounding up. A family of six would get two boxes. A family of ten would receive three boxes.
